Reflection 29/4/16

Reflection 29/04/2016

This week, the work  I did for my FMP was storyboarding, research and interviews. I feel that it went well but the storyboard pictures did not come out as I wanted. The research I found was useful.
The things that did go well were doing the interviews with the tutor.  The ideas and feedback that I got will help me to put more detail in to my work.

The things that didn't go that well was the storyboard images and I could have thought of more questions to do with the interviews to give more variety of answers.

The things that  could help me are;

  1. To give myself more time to think of research questions
  2. With the storyboarding, I could have used Google images or copied them to put in to my storyboard to make it more inventive and realistic.

Focus Groups

  • have a combination of still and moving images
  • points of interest within the village

Mission Statement

                                                  Mission Statement

In this assignment for my final major project I have decided to create a promotional video in a style of a travel information documentry for a village in France call Peyrat-le-Chateau. I will also generate a commercial poster advertising this destination.

The visual style will be in the form of a modern day travel information film. There will be a voice over or title cards. I will use photos that I have taken or photos on the internet to show the village.

.
My intended target audience is going to be 17+

I have chosen this age group because at the age of 17 you can fly alone on a plane and most adults would want to know what to visit and where to stay and information on the local area.

I have researched the screen ratings of film and television and on reflection, I have chosen the screen rating of PG because it is suitable for everyone to view.

You will see this video on the internet on websites such as Trip Adviser, YouTube and most social media websites.

I will start my research by producing a pinterest mood board based on my theme to help inform me of the direction it will take.
I will do further research by looking at websites related to travel to give me an idea of similar products.

The information that I can get from this website is that it shows a shore excursion video with a voice over and the video shows different aspects of shore excursions.
At the end of the video they had a preview of their website on a transition.

   My Story Idea

My story is that a priceless necklace gets stolen from the British Museum by one thief in broad daylight in the museum's busiest time. No one sees the thief enter the museum or leave. The guards notice straight way that the necklace is missing. They call the police and lock the museum down so no one enters or leaves. There is a massive search all across London. The next day the Queen sits down for breakfast and pours her own Coco-Pops cereal. As she pours the cereal, the priceless necklace ends up in her bowl. The Queen panics and hides the necklace but her butler sees her hide it. He talks to her about the necklace. She says it's not hers. Her butler suggests that they go on the run. That night the Queen and her butler pack their belongings and they go on the run without anyone knowing.

The Queen and her butler sneak across London undetected by using the night buses and black cabs, to get to Stanwell but they come across a police check point at the end of the road. So they have a change of plans and head to Richmond to take cover just in time because it was Good Morning Britain was just about to begin which is the Queens favourite programme. Whilst watching Good Morning Britain braking news comes up on screen and it was about the Queen and her butler have gone missing and the media presume that the Queen and her butler have stolen the priceless necklace.

They turn the TV over to BBC news and it says that Mi6 and the Metropolitan Police were hunting them. The Queen and her butler decide to make a break for it and get to Stanwell so they can get  Heathrow Airport quick.........
